Chromatin associated long non-coding RNAs
[Repressive] and [Active] chromatin associated long non-coding RNAs
Characterizing various functional mechanisms of chromatin-associated lncRNAs.
Keen to address molecular mechanisms involved in tumorigenesis by integrating datasets from different high- throughput techniques – By analyzing genome-wide chromatin profiles, I have predicted possible mechanisms of active and inactive chromatin-associated RNA molecules – From integrative approach using chromatin and transcriptome datasets of mammalian gametes, developmental stages, somatic, and cancer tissues, I identified a unique set of sperm-specific lincRNAs – In addition to that, using transcriptome and methylome datasets from The Cancer Genome Project (TCGA) PAN-cancer dataset, I have identified cell cycle associated functional RNA molecules having a role as an oncogene and tumor suppressors in multiple cancers – Overall my interest is to integrated transcriptome- and chromatin-based high-throughput datasets to find RNA molecule-based biomarkers in cancer and other diseases that can be used for future therapeutics.
